Andreas Karas, the president of Alpha Genesis, has drawn
on his expertise in working with international firms to
give the global orientation that underscores the
company’s activities.
In the course of the last few years, Andreas has
done an extensive academic work on private equity and
venture capital in emerging countries; international
development issues; as well as the ongoing
transformation of Russia - which is also reflected on
his current work for the coming publication of a book
titled "Russia - From Stability to Growth". He holds
undergraduate and graduate degrees in international studies
and economics from American University, in Washington,
D.C.
An important milestone was his time with Deloitte
& Touche in Europe where he held the position of a
Director in Corporate Finance. At that capacity he had a
multifaceted involvement with companies across Europe on
acquisitions, capital-raising, and financial consulting.
The interest and expertise in renewable energy
sources stems from his work in the energy sector. The
main experience has been the ongoing contribution in the
development of Calvalley Petroleum; a Canadian public
company that he has been consulting on capital-raising
since late 1999 and which has a substantial asset in
Yemen (prospects of more than 3 billion bbls with over
600 million bbls recoverable).
Other work includes: support with Bouygues’
activities in Russia (a US$ 20 billion French
conglomerate); consulting to a consortium of Raytheon/Yamani
Group; consulting to various influential families in
Europe.
