Alpha Genesis explores the development of technologies
relating to the wind energy industry. To this extend we
pursue relationships with scientists and institutes from
around the world. Given the momentum of the industry in
the United States, Alpha Genesis provides a gateway to
the commercialization of key emerging technologies in
the sector.
Since the early 1980s, the cost of producing energy from
wind farms has fallen tenfold (from 40 cents/kWh to less
than 4 cents/kWh). Continuous improvements in turbine
manufacturing should further decrease the costs in
coming years. Companies that keep a close track of these
rapid changes are in an advantageous position for the
development of more profitable wind plants. Thus, our
involvement in R&D provides both a prospective
upside from technology commercialization and improved
profitability for the wind plants on which we work as
consultants or as developers.
